We are excited to introduce our new Youth Development initiative called  E Tū Tauira Te Awaroa.  This programme extends our mahi into local primary schools as well as Kaipara College.  E Tū Tauira is a fun interactive, co-curated  series of workshops for Yr 7-13 students, that focus on wellbeing, group dynamics, leadership development, and positive contribution.  The culmination of the programme will include bringing together workshop participants from primary and secondary schools, facilitating the development of positive tuakana-tenia relationships that will support students as they transition to their next year level or school.

Underpinned by the E Tū Tangata framework (https://www.etutangata.nz) sessions focus on three core principles:

  •   I have value: developing belonging, identity, personal strengths, enhancing mana
  •   We succeed together: building relationships, learning team strengths and celebrating shared success
  •   Others matter: Awareness of others, service and contribution, the positive experience of generosity.

The E Tū Tauira kaupapa highlights these core principles to create a strength-based programme, helping youth feel pride in their own strengths with an ability to recognise and celebrate the strengths of others.
